Impact Testing
Experts in drop testing for safety surfacing. We are one of the few entities in the state of Florida with the Triax Impact Test Equipment to test safety surfacing.
Performing a drop test on safety surfaces at the time of installation and throughout the life of the maintained surface provides you with an indication of the performance of the surface so that you can best ensure safety on your playground, obtain certification, and mitigate your risk.
In order for your safety surfacing to be certified by IPEMA, you must meet the ASTM F1292 Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surfacing Materials.
The purpose of this specification is to establish minimum impact attenuation requirements for playground surfacing materials in order to reduce the risk of severe head injury from falls.
ASTM F1292 Standard (4.4.2): When an installed playground surface is tested in accordance with this section, if the impact test scores at any tested location in the use zone of a play structure do not meet the performance criterion, bring the surface into compliance with the requirements of this specification or the play structure shall not be permitted to be used until the playground surface complies.
